With the significant population growth seen throughout the Permian Basin in the last decade, there is a constant need for the construction industry to provide housing and infrastructure. However, due to certain challenges present in the region, there is currently a shortage of skilled construction personnel. At Odessa College, we are seeking to fill the gap in skilled labor through our degrees and certificates in Construction Trades and Construction Management. Given the high demand for skilled workers in the area, a Construction Management graduate could expect salaries ranging from $51,648.00 - $107,364.00, according to West Texas Wages Data from 2020.

The Associate in Applied Science Degree in Construction Management prepares graduates for succeeding in a career in the construction industry, whether it is in the residential sector or the commercial sector. Our graduates will be fully prepared to manage the various activities that take place on a construction site. The activities covered in this program include scheduling, cost estimating, plan review, and computer-aided drafting. Potential job opportunities for graduates include Project Managers, Superintendents, and Quality Control Managers. These types of positions will continue to be in great demand as the Permian Basin continues to grow and thrive.
